Hello! I’m Dénis (or Dens) Akoka, a dynamic tech professional with a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation and create impactful solutions. Based in Dundee, Scotland, I have a diverse background that spans product development, marketing management, graphic design, and business development.
My Journey
My journey began in France, where I earned a Higher National Diploma in Marketing from Université Côte d'Azur. During this time, I kickstarted my professional journey by building websites and creating brands for small businesses and friends at an affordable cost. This hands-on experience in digital marketing and web development laid a strong foundation for my career. Additionally, I served as the President of the Student Association, managing organisational changes and leading initiatives to improve student services. I also worked as a Charity Team Leader for the French Red Cross, coordinating volunteer teams in various humanitarian projects.
In 2018, I moved to the UK to further my education and career. I completed a BA (Hons) in Marketing and Business at Abertay University (Fun fact: the creators of GTA & Rockstars studied there!), focusing on marketing principles, business strategy, digital marketing, market analysis, and brand management. I then pursued an MSc in Management at the University of Dundee, specialising in strategic management, leadership, and entrepreneurship. During my studies, I continued to work on freelance projects, helping businesses with digital marketing and web development.
Around 2016, I began exploring Bitcoin and, by 2020/2021, I started building and assisting brands in the blockchain industry. I founded and led two innovative projects: Wee Panda, a web3 mobile ordering solution for the hospitality industry, and Calileo, a decentralised social media platform. These projects allowed me to leverage blockchain technology to create impactful solutions from scratch.
Currently, I serve as a Senior Manager in Social Media at Luna PR, a globally recognised marketing agency specialising in the blockchain and cryptocurrency sectors. In this role, I lead strategic social media initiatives, crafting and executing tailored campaigns that amplify brand visibility and engagement. My work involves overseeing content creation, managing high-profile client accounts, and staying ahead of social media trends to drive impactful results in a fast-paced, innovative industry.
This new role builds on my experience as a Senior Marketing Account Manager at Focus7 International, where I managed key accounts, coordinated marketing campaigns, and aligned client goals with bespoke strategies. Moving forward, I am thrilled to continue making an impact in the blockchain and marketing industries, particularly through the ever-evolving world of social media.
My Vision

Whether it's through developing decentralised platforms, leading marketing initiatives, or creating user-centric designs, my goal is to drive innovation and deliver value. I believe that a cohesive team happy to work together towards a clear and common goal makes everyone more fulfilled and productive. As a team leader, I emphasise trust, cohesion, and logic as crucial elements of my management approach. I’m passionate about new technologies, highly coachable, and always eager to learn and grow.
My Interests and Hobbies
I love working on new projects, helping small businesses with my skillset, and supporting friends in their endeavours. Staying up to date with new technologies is a passion of mine, especially those relevant to my field. Music is another love of mine; I enjoy all kinds of music and play a few instruments myself.
I am also an avid sports enthusiast. I currently play National 1 level rugby in Scotland with Dundee Rugby Club, having previously played high-level rugby in France and university rugby in Scotland. I used to do ski summits in France and enjoy playing a variety of sports including tennis, basketball, and paddle.
Additionally, I am a video game enthusiast and have a keen interest in museums, history, and geography. My curiosity drives me to continuously learn new things and explore different interests.
