Collective is a platform designed for music artists to express themselves and gain promotion for free on YouTube. The platform is structured into different "Rooms," each representing a specific music genre and colour. I was responsible for creating a comprehensive branding solution that includes logo design, typeface selection, colour schemes, and dynamic video visuals.
Objectives
- Primary Goal: Develop a strong and versatile brand identity for Collective that appeals to various music genres and enhances artist promotion.
- Secondary Objectives: Create engaging visual content for YouTube, ensuring each music genre has a distinct and recognisable identity.
Approach
- Brand Creation: Designed a unique logo and selected typefaces to reflect the platform's modern and inclusive vibe. Developed a colour scheme with eight distinct colours, each representing a different music genre.
- Visuals and Media: Created dynamic videos using After Effects, featuring soundwaves that react to the beats of the music, tailored to each genre's aesthetic.
- Colour-Coded Rooms: Conceptualised the idea of "Rooms," with each Room representing a specific music genre and colour, organised into playlists on their YouTube channel.
Execution
- Branding: Developed a cohesive brand identity that includes a logo, typefaces, and a vibrant colour palette. Each colour corresponds to one of the eight music genres.
- Video Content: Produced engaging video visuals using After Effects. These videos feature soundwaves that react to the music, enhancing the auditory experience with visual elements.
- YouTube Channel: Structured the YouTube channel into genre-specific playlists, each Room colour-coded to make navigation intuitive and visually appealing. Visit their YouTube channel.
Outcomes
- Results: Successfully launched a distinct and engaging brand identity for Collective. The visually dynamic videos and colour-coded Rooms have made the platform appealing and easy to navigate for music artists and listeners alike.
