#Branding | #Website
Unite Against Cancer is a charity dedicated to supporting those affected by cancer through research, care, and awareness. I was brought on to elevate their branding and rebuild their website, ensuring it effectively communicated their mission while providing an improved user experience.
Objectives
- Primary Goal: Redesign the Unite Against Cancer brand and website to create a professional, impactful online presence that resonates with supporters and stakeholders.
- Secondary Objectives:
- Optimise the website for organic SEO and improved UX.
- Develop a scalable brand kit for versatile usage.
- Establish a website structure that aligns with best practices in the charity sector.
Approach
- Logo & Branding:
- The client wanted to retain the exact same logo design. To achieve this, I traced their low-resolution logo on Illustrator and redrew it from scratch, creating a clean, vectorised version.
- Redrawing the logo allowed flexibility in creating additional variations, including a 3D version and profile-friendly formats for social media.
- Enhanced the colour palette for versatility, ensuring the logo worked seamlessly on both light and dark backgrounds.
- Delivered a full brand kit with guidelines to ensure consistency across all platforms.
- Website Design & Development:
- Conducted research on charity websites to determine an optimal sitemap and structure.
- Migrated the site from Wix to Webflow for better performance, customisation, and scalability.
- Designed an intuitive layout and flow, focusing on enhancing UX and content readability.
- Content & SEO:
- Developed fletched content for pages with a focus on storytelling and engagement.
- Integrated impactful visuals and optimised copy to boost organic search visibility.
Execution
- Logo & Branding: Delivered a modernised logo and brand kit with multiple use cases, including a striking 3D version, while respecting the client’s request to retain the original design.
- Website Progress:
- Built the Home and Get Involved pages, showcasing a clean and professional design with compelling calls to action.
- Structured the site for easy navigation and accessibility, particularly for donors and volunteers.
- Focused on creating a site map that aligns with SEO best practices to attract more organic traffic.
Outcomes
- Results (Ongoing):
- A revamped brand identity ready for diverse applications.
- A strong foundation for the new website, with the first two pages live and an optimised framework for future content.
- Client Feedback: Positive reception to the brand kit and website design, with excitement about the site's ongoing development.
